Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Hyundai Capital Australia (HCAU) during our foundational stages! HCAU is currently the consulting entity of Hyundai Capital Services Korea within Australia. We’re in the process of establishing a subsidiary in Australia to provide captive-finance services to Hyundai Motor Group (HMG). HMG is Korea's 2nd largest conglomerate focusing on automobiles, auto parts, finance and more.

Hyundai Capital is the financial arm of HMG and the primary goal of its overseas branches is to increase vehicle sales by providing a full spectrum of financial services. We’re currently hiring a Wholesale Credit Senior Manager to join our Sales team reporting to our Sales Director. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our Wholesale Credit compliance framework, policies and procedures end to end in collaboration with other teams such as Risk and Legal & Compliance.

What you’ll do:

Take ownership of the Wholesale Credit process, including but not limited to:

  • project managing the Sales team, to deliver info to agreed timelines.
  • liaising with HO legal to obtain legal docs
  • liaising with HO credit to ensure Credit obligations are met..
  • liaising with Compliance on KYC & AML.
  • liaising with Ops & Finance for onboarding.
  • Act as the point of contact between Credit & Sales teams to ensure all documents are completed accurately, completely & comprehensively.
  • Ensure conditions precedence is complete e.g. of certificate of currency for insurance.

Legal & Compliance:

  • Work with our Financial Crime and Compliance teams to ensure HCAU meets its obligations under AML & KYC as per the Standard Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Terrorism Financing Program.
  • Work closely with Legal to ensure wholesale documents are right sized for the dealer entity.
  • Own documents within the Sales team ensuring amendments are agreed upon, completed correctly and changes are tracked/controlled.

Sales Team Training:

  • Ensure the RSM's are up to date on credit and pricing policies of wholesale, AML & KYC obligations and documentation.
  • Work with RSM to understand the dealership & how it relates to credit.
  • Provide advice to the RSM on how deals maybe structured and the risk requirements of credit, e.g. GSA's, PG, Parent Entity Guarantees, LTV etc.
  • Ensure the credit policies are right sized for the dealership.

Wholesale Credit Assessment & Application - evaluate a borrower’s creditworthiness with consideration to:

  • Character – Refers to the borrower’s reputation and financial responsibility.
  • Capacity – Measures the borrower’s ability to repay the loan based on income, employment stability, debt-to-income ratio, and overall financial situation.
  • Capital – Represents the borrower’s financial reserves.
  • Collateral – Includes tangible assets (e.g., real estate, vehicles, or equipment).
  • Completion – Completion of the credit application document, including all information relevant to making a credit approval, preparing the documents.

Your skills & experience:

  • Demonstrated experience leading wholesale credit initiatives, preferably within Automotive Finance.
  • Strong background in financial analysis and credit risk management.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in driving efficiency and productivity improvements.
  • Exposure to a fast-paced, start-up environment within Financial Services.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a customer-centric and solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and able to adapt to new systems and technologies.
